JHSC Part 1 Certification

Training

Course Description

This engaging and interactive 3-day course is approved by the Ministry of Labour and applies to all workplaces that require certified members. Provincial legislation mandates that all workplaces that regularly employ 20 or more workers must have a joint health and safety committee. There must be at least one certified worker member and one certified management member on the committee. The purpose of the course is to provide individuals with the knowledge and resources to effectively fulfill their role as certified members. Successful participants will receive certification from the Ministry of Labour.

Evaluation

Learners will be evaluated throughout the course based on their participation in case studies, exercises and group discussions. Each learner is required to complete a multiple choice test which will be evaluated by the course instructor.

Documentation

Successful learners will be issued a record of completion and will receive accreditation from the Ministry of Labour.

Continuing Education

Part 2 Certification training must be completed within 6 months of Part 1 in order to maintain Certified status

JHSC Part 2 Certification: Office Environments

Training

Course Description

This 2-day course is primarily designed for workplaces that provide general management or administrative support services. Part 2 training, also known as workplace specific hazard training, builds on concepts gained in Part 1 training and focuses on hazards present in the workplace that would be most likely to cause injury or illness.

Training

Course Description

This 2-day course is primarily designed for workplaces that provide a service or product in support of industry. Part 2 training, also known as workplace specific hazard training, builds on concepts gained in Part 1 training and focuses on hazards present in the workplace that would be most likely to cause injury or illness.
